If a thesis is about 90-100 thousand words, how long is the literature review section meant to be? When I presented the first draft of my lit review to my supervisor he said “Ooh, bit short, yeah?” I replied with “I don’t know; is it?” and he responded with “Mmmm, I don’t know.”

It was the longest paper I ever wrote in less than a week, so I was impressed with myself. But now I’m not so sure. Feeling as if I’ve really been faking my way through this whole course, and only now the facade is starting to break down. It’s what all PhD students go through, yeah?
