I just found this out by the American Chronicle:
Episcopal Seminarian Launches Internet’s Only Devoted Gay Christian Matchmaking Site
Justin R. Cannon, a 22 year-old founder of TruthSetsFree.net, recently announced the launch of Gayharmony.net. The site’s introduction to the web marked it as the Internet’s only devoted gay Christian matchmaking site. Cannon explains, “Most GLBTQ Christians are excluded from joining Christian personals sites, and gay and other personals sites aren’t structured to meet their specific needs. The growing gay Christian demographic deserves a welcoming safe place tailored just for us.”
Now I think it’s cool that Christians are out & proud. I think it’s cool that people meet other people for fun, friendships and maybe something more in Christian gatherings. So I think it’s a courageous move for a diocese to back a gay Christian match-making site.
But there is something that makes me go “eek” at the thought, and it’s the same “eek” I feel when I hear about Christian online match-making in general. I don’t know for certain where that “eek” comes from – maybe my unattraction to online dating, maybe my unattraction to people who only want to date Christians.
But I am definitely sad that there are more and more places being setting up in both virtual and actual worlds for Christian LGBTIs. Like they can’t do what everyone else can do in Christian places. Christianity is divided enough, but it seems the more the religion grows, the more it is divided. God give us unity, please.
Technorati tags: gay Christians, online Christian dating

The online Christian dating thing came up a year or two back when I was lecturing a theology class and we were looking at technology, and in particular internet technologies and how they shape relationships and how did the notion of incarnation interact with this.
Little did I know that several people in class has met their respective spouses though such systems. Luckily I didn’t stick my foot too far into my mouth
